Classic pickled green tomatoes


  1. Green tomatoes – 2 kg.
  2. Salt – 60 gr.
  3. Sugar – 50 gr.
  4. 9%Vinregar – 60 gr.
  5. Black pepper – 6 peas
  6. Bay leaves – 5 pieces
  7. 3 Horse- radish leaves
  8. 1 horse-radish root
  9. Celery – 50 gr.
  10. 5-6 Garlic cloves


Washed under flowing water tomatoes boil for 3-5 minutes, after cool it with the cold water. Put chopped horse-radish root, cut several garlic cloves and celery into the clean glass jar. Lay above green tomatoes. But my advice – every green tomato should be pricked in the area of pedicle. Now you have to prepare the marinade. Take 1 litre glass jar and add some salt, sugar, vinegar, 6 peas of black pepper, bay leaves, horse- radish leaves, celery, 2-3 garlic cloves in it. Then boil the marinade, and pour with it the green tomatoes three times.  After the third marinade pouring, seal the jars, turn them the necks over and cover with blanket.  Let them stay in such a position until they are completely cold.

  1. Several green tomatoes
  2. 2 Garlic cloves
  3. Water- 3 litres
  4. 9% Vinegar- 250 gr.
  5. Sugar- 3 table-spoons
  6. Salt- 2 table-spoons
  7. 3 Bay leaves
  8. Celery grains (seeds)


Green tomato – is a very useful thing, containing much microelements and vitamins in it and it becomes even more useful if to fill it with garlic. Wash all the tomatoes properly, make a cut in every green tomato and stuff it with garlic. Put some celery seeds and stalks into the sterilized jars and lay down your green tomatoes above the celery. For the marinade you put some salt, sugar, bay leaves celery seeds into the water (3 litres) and boil it, after add some vinegar in it.  Pour the tomatoes with the boiled marinade and seal the jar with the sterilized covers. Turn the jar the neck over and cover with blanket till it’s complete cooling. Bon appétit!
